The Cobbers visited Carleton’s turf for their game last weekend on Oct. 8, 2011, crushing the Knights into the ground with a final score of 26-7.

By scoring the opening possession of the game, our Cobber men set the game off to a good start. The offense and defense played well the entire day, especially Fullback Brett Baune, who scored three touchdowns for the Cobbers.

The total number of sacks was seven, which according to, now makes the Cobbers “lead the MIAC in QB [quarterback] tackles with 28.”

Senior QB Michael Dunham also played extremely well that day. According to, “Senior quarterback Michael Dunham was an efficient 11-for-14 for 129 yards and one TD [touchdown] on the day. He also ran for 29 yards. Dunham now needs only 490 yards to break the school record for career passing yards set by Ethan Pole from 1995-98. His 546 career completions are 106 shy of Pole’s record of 667.”

The football team is 4-2 so far this season, winning games against Dickinson State, Buena Vista, Gustavus and most recently Carleton.  Only Saint John’s and St. Thomas have rivaled our men’s athletic abilities and won.

Be sure to bring your Cobber spirit to the homecoming game at 1:00 p.m. for the Cobber game against Augsburg. The men’s football team will be sure to bring their A-game to the field and ensure another victory for Concordia.
