Chapel Choir tours with Mr. Smith for last time

Posted on March 16, 2012March 15, 2012 by Kelsy Johnson

The Concordia Chapel choir, composed of over 80 men and women, began its annual tour on Wednesday.

This tour marks the final trip with the choir for director Michael Smith, who is retiring at the end of the year.

“We’re really excited to go on tour with Mr. Smith and make his last tour as memorable as possible,” said Travis Loch, senior and Chapel Choir manager. “It’s a time to remember what he’s brought us and how he’s touched our lives.”

The choir will visit Brookings, S.D.; New Ulm, Minn.; Willmar, Minn. and Apple Valley, Minn. before ending their tour with a home concert at 4 p.m. in the Centrum on Sunday.

Dr Smith did his student teaching & directed my choir, at Cooper High School around 1970! I’ve enjoyed seeing you’re work at Concordia while my daughter has been here. (2012 grad). Congrats on a great career & your retirement!
