Coronation, an event that has been a part of the Concordia Homecoming tradition since 1926, was the first event of this year’s Homecoming week.
“This is a great tradition in which students’ lives represent the ideals of the college,” President William Craft said. “Your work as leaders, leaders who are willing to serve the world, represents this college with outstanding distinction.”
Homecoming Court is chosen by the senior class, and then the student body votes for their Homecoming King and Queen choices.
Tweten is a religion and history major from Fargo who is involved in organizations across campus, including being an orientation leader, a member of chapel choir and an intern for Intercultural Affairs.
“It’s an honor,” Tweten said, “an honor to represent everyone.”
Vilt, originally from Austin, Minn., was also an orientation leader and works with Campus Entertainment Commission and Kord Radio.
“It feels great [to be chosen as Homecoming King],” Vilt said. “The show was lots of fun.”
Other members of the Court are LaCresia King, Anna ‘AJ’ Johnson, Britt VanderEyk, Emily Lichte, Jordan Lutz, Graham Sibley, Shane Yager and Ryan McAdam.
