Student Affairs Committee officially removes student from SGA

Posted on December 7, 2023October 25, 2024 by Noah Bloch

MOORHEAD – Former Student Government Association (SGA) member at large Ruel Domi’s request to be reinstated to the position was denied by the Student Affairs Committee on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Domi was removed from the position earlier this month. SGA members were notified by a Teams message sent on Nov. 3 by their advisor and assistant dean of students, Nathalie Rinehardt.

It’s unclear why Domi was removed from his position. When asked for a comment by The Concordian, he declined.

Domi appealed the decision to the Student Affairs Committe, SGA vice president Anna Kronbeck said in an email to The Concordian.

Article five section four of the SGA bylaws outlines the appeals process. Appeals must be made within seven academic days of the decision to the Student Affairs Committee. The decision of the appeal “shall be final and binding” according to the SGA constitution.

“The Student Affairs Committee voted to deny Ruel’s appeal, effectively removing him from SGA permanently,” Kronbeck said.

Although he is no longer a member of SGA, Domi is allowed to attend senate meetings just as all students are, Kronbeck said.
