It’s That Time of the Year Again

Posted on November 4, 2011 by The Concordian
Photo from Go Cobber Blog. Goalies were key members to the Cobbers' wins this last weekend against Gustavus and St. John's.

As the end of the semester looms near, the air starts turning colder and we have to dig out the winter coats that Mom packed before we left for school. The leaves turn brown, and we can no longer sport flip flops as we roam campus. But on a happier note: Hockey season is here.

The Concordia Men’s hockey team has been hard at work preparing for a killer 2011-2012 season. So far, they’ve started off strong.

On Oct. 29, our men faced Gustavus and crushed them into the ice with a 3-2 win. The next day, our men won 2-1 against St. John’s. According to the sports homepage, “They were  only one of two teams in the conference to finish the weekend at 2-0.”

The stellar work of sophomore goaltenders Chris Neamonitis and Kelly Andrew were key members in ensuring the Cobber’s victory against their opposition.

Next weekend the Cobber men travel to face UW-Stout on Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. and St. Thomas on Nov. 5 at 7:00 p.m. The men will surely skate their way to victory next weekend, keeping up with their winning streak.
