Student Government Association welcomed three new members after freshman and sophomore class representative elections Tuesday.
Freshman representative elects Aashik Olety and Ben Cousins received 155 votes and 125 votes, respectively. Sophomore representative elect Alex Elizárraga received 72 votes, beating candidate Beth Osman by only one vote.
“It’s kinda cool to think that just one person supporting me made the difference in a tie between two people,” Elizárraga said. “It illustrates the power of voting.”
Other candidates in the election included freshman Becca Sonrol (91 votes) and sophomore Carson Quellette (44 votes).
