MOORHEAD – This year’s Homecoming will take place from Oct. 12 to 15. With a packed schedule of events for current students and alumni, Homecoming is a celebration of everything it means to be a cobber.
Thursday, Oct. 12:
Student Events
- 1 p.m. – Dedication of Sanford Heimarck School of Health Professions
All are welcome at the dedication of the new School of Health Professions. There will be a brief program and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m., followed by an open house until 2:30 p.m.
- 7 p.m. – Cobbers Got Talent
The annual talent showcase will take place in Olsen Forum and feature a variety of student acts.
- 8:45 p.m. – Bonfire
This student event will take place on the south side of Jake Christianson Stadium. There will be music and fireworks.
Alumni Events
- 6:30 p.m. – 1973 50th Reunion Gathering
This event will take place at Murphy’s Pub, 808 30th Ave S, and will last until 8:30 p.m. The setting is casual and no preregistration is required.
Friday, Oct. 13:
Student Events
- 9:50 a.m. – Homecoming Chapel
Gather in the Centrum to hear a message from the 2023 Homecoming committee chair, Brock Russel.
Alumni Events
- 10:30 a.m. – Registration
Registration materials can be picked up in the Atrium. This is also the meeting point for the campus tours, available until 2:45 p.m. Registration will be open until 6:30 p.m.
- 12:30 p.m. – 1973 50th Reunion Luncheon with President Irvine
This event will take place in the Centrum. Registration is required and the cost is $20. Following the lunch, a guided tour of the new Heimarck building will begin at 3 p.m.
- 5:30 – Alumni Soccer game
This event will take place at the Jake Christianson Stadium soccer field.
- 5:30 p.m. – Pre-banquet social hour
Come to the Atrium to socialize with friends and fellow cobbers before the banquet at 6:30 p.m.
- 6:30 p.m. – Homecoming Banquet
Registration for the banquet is required, as seating is reserved. The cost is $60. The banquet is a time to present the Alumni Achievement Award to four Concordia graduates. The Honorees are Dr. Betty Malen ’68, Dr. Stephen Wonderlich ’78, Randall Boushek ’79, and The Rev. Gary Henderson ’79. The event will take place in the Centrum.
- 6:30 to 9 p.m. – Reunion Gatherings

Saturday, October 14th 2023:
Student Events
- 7 a.m. – Cobber 5k Fun Run and Kids’ Niblet 1 mile
Registration is open starting at 7 a.m. until 8 a.m. in Memorial Auditorium and costs $25. The all-ages Cobber 5k will begin at 8:30 a.m. The Niblet 1 mile for kids 12 and under will take place at 9:30 a.m.
- 11 a.m. – Homecoming Parade
The annual Homecoming parade will take place on 8th Street. The parade will start from Townsite Center near Mcdonald’s and end at Jake Christianson Stadium
- 1 p.m. – Football Game vs. Hamline (Jake Christianson Stadium)
Students get in free! Tickets for alumni or other attendees will be available at the gate. The 2023 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees will be recognized during halftime.
- 1 p.m. – Men’s Soccer vs. Gustavus Adolphus (soccer field, Jake Christianson Stadium)
Tickets for the game will be available at the gate.
- 3:30 p.m. – Women’s Soccer vs. Gustavus Adolphus (soccer field, Jake Christianson)
Tickets for the game will be available at the gate.
- 6:30 p.m. – Homecoming Concert
The concert will be in Memorial Auditorium and admission is free.
- 9:30 p.m. – Johnny Holm Band Dance
This student event will take place on the lower level of Olsen Forum. Entry is not permitted after 11 p.m. The dance will end at 11:30 p.m.
Alumni Events
- 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. – Reunion Breakfasts

- 3 p.m. – Class of 2013 10th Reunion
This event will take place at Camp Lonetree, 7th Ave N, until 5:30 p.m. and no registration is required.
- 5 p.m. – Athletic Hall of Fame Reception
This event will honor the 2023 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. It will take place in the Centrum and registration is required.
- 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. – Evening Reunion Gatherings

Sunday, Oct. 15 2023:
- 10:30 a.m. – Inauguration service of President Colin Irvine
The service will take place in Memorial Auditorium. Everyone is welcome to attend as Concordia formally welcomes Dr. Colin Irvine as the college’s 12th President. There will be a reception in the Atrium immediately following the inauguration. The event will end at noon.
